Where the office is
We are at 4514 Cole Avenue, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75205, in a small suite in Highland Park Place. To be clear, the office is in Dallas, not in the Town of Highland Park. It sits on Cole Avenue in the Knox Henderson area, convenient to Highland Park, University Park, Uptown, Lakewood, Preston Hollow and North Dallas.
Why some couples prefer to meet in person
You may simply prefer to talk in person. Sitting in the same room, away from the laundry, the mail and the phone that keeps buzzing, can make it easier to stay with a hard conversation. The trip itself can act as a buffer, with time to settle on the way in and time to talk, or not talk, on the way home. Leaving the house to work on the marriage can also be a way of saying it matters.
What an in person session is like
The office is a small suite with lamplight, comfortable seating and a door that closes. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and sessions are weekly to start, then spaced out as things steady. In the first session, each of you gets uninterrupted time to say, in front of the other, what brought you in and what you want to be different. By the end, you hear a plain description of the pattern and what the next few sessions will focus on. Feedback goes to both of you without taking sides, and you usually leave with one or two specific things to try at home.
What we offer at the Cole Avenue office
Every service we list is available in person: couples counseling, marriage counseling, pre marital counseling, infidelity recovery, rekindling romance, individual therapy and money disorders. Each one has its own page under our services. You work with one of two licensed counselors. Kathryn McNeer, LPC sees couples and individuals in the Cole Avenue office and online, and her work is Gottman informed and cognitive behavioral.
Privacy when counseling is close to home
Seeing a counselor near where you live can raise a fair question: what if we run into someone we know? It is a reasonable thing to weigh. What the office offers is simple: a room with a door that closes. If meeting close to home does not feel right, or a particular week makes the trip hard, online sessions by secure, private video are another option for anyone located in Texas.
How to get started
Send a short note through our contact form or call (214) 980-0915. A few lines are enough, and you do not need to include clinical detail. We will reply to confirm fit, answer any questions about fees and offer times, either in the office or online. An appointment request is not a confirmed booking until the office confirms a time, and intake forms are completed before your first session.

Is McNeer Group in the Town of Highland Park?
No. Our suite is in Highland Park Place, but the address is 4514 Cole Avenue, Suite 200, Dallas, in the Knox Henderson area. The office is convenient to Highland Park and University Park, as well as Uptown, Lakewood, Preston Hollow and North Dallas.
Can one of us come in alone?
Yes. Both of our counselors see individuals, and individual counseling for relationship concerns is one of the specialties Kathryn lists. Do you offer pre marital counseling at the office?
Yes. Pre marital counseling is a short, focused series, typically four to six sessions, in person on Cole Avenue or online in Texas. It covers money, family and roles, and how the two of you handle conflict. It also fits if your officiant or faith community has asked you to complete counseling before the wedding.
If we live close by, can we still meet online?
Yes. Living near the office does not limit you to in person sessions. Online sessions by secure, private video are open to anyone physically located in Texas at the time of the session. Couples can join from the same room or from two places, and online rates are the same as in person.
